Note: Some of these contradict one another so read my blurb below about red.
POPPY RED (DuPont # 38506A / LRC.CMK)
MASAI RED (DuPont # 44035A / LRC296)
While it’s documented in several places that Poppy Red was only used from 1959-1968, it may not be totally accurate It’s suspected that, at some point, someone made a key error and the world has never looked back. It appears that Poppy Red was used until 1971 and I was unable to find any offical record of which type of red was an available color from 1973-1979 on Series vehicles. I found a 1981 brochure for the Series V8 that lists Masai Red but doesn’t list any red for the non-V8 model. I also found a 1982 brochure that lists Masai Red as an option for all Series III vehicles.
